Service Impact Management requires analysis and ad-hoc generation of reports to determine Service Availability, Mean-Time-To-Repair Service Resources, and Top-N Reporting...

Our solution includes specific alert summarization services which can be configured through the NetExpert Neon Portal. The summarization service can be configured to summarize alerts by services, resources, and sub-categories. Once set up the information is logged into Oracle 10g tables and can be analyzed and mined through Actuate BIRT Interactive Viewer (see below for more information)

Actuate provides us a web-based interface to launch ad-hoc queries or schedule reports. One can collaborate on reports and tune them to meet your needs. OSI has pre-configured, standard Service Impact Reports as a starting point:

  • MTTR (Mean Time To Repair) for a specific object (Customer, Service, Resource or Location)
  • Availability for a specific object (Customer, Service or Resource)
  • Top N Unavailability (Customers, Services, Resources or Locations)
  • Top N MTTR (Customers, Services, Resources or Locations)

Actuate

Actuate BIRT Interactive Viewer is a new AJAX-powered, BIRT-based interactive report viewing tool that enables every user to think beyond the current structure of a report and personalize it based on task and need. Users who are not familiar or comfortable with standard report authoring tools are able to use Actuate BIRT Interactive Viewer without costly training, within moments of being introduced to its intuitive interface - an inexpensive alternative to training individuals who would use the tool on a limited or casual basis.

As the most accessible BIRT end-user product to date, Actuate BIRT Interactive Viewer adds value to the BIRT product line by giving users interactive report viewing.

  • Allow virtually anyone to access, personalize and customize a BIRT report without affecting underlying data
  • Give users immediate access to information and an immediate return for their efforts, in effect teaching them how to use the basic BIRT tools
  • Shift IT focus from report generation activities to higher-level priorities - ease of use shortens cycles between report design and completion
  • Introduce BIRT open source-based products to the entire enterprise, paving the way for future BIRT development and deployment

Actuate's Rich Information Application-ready, open source-based BI tools can be deployed in any pre-existing or new development project to create a progressive, collaborative reporting environment that allows developers, report writers and end users to create and/or use applications rich in interactivity, depth, span and complexity. With BIRT at its core, the Actuate suite of open source-based BIRT products creates an environment that is virtually boundless; an infrastructure in which to build and deploy Rich Information Applications without Limits.™
