NetExpert 6.2 SP1 is available and shipping

The new NetExpert 6.2 Service Pack 1 release builds on the existing 6.2 base by providing Application Service Assurance and Client GUI improvements for NetExpert Systems Administrators and Developers.

Some of the key features include…

Ease-of-Use Improvements in Policy-based Applications - A new wizard-based configuration interface is now available to configure the DMP policy server, IP Discovery server and device polling. Additional performance management improvements include managing "data holes" in aggregates, performing delta calculations on aggregates and building time and/or instance based aggregations is also supported.

IP Based AutoDiscovery Improvements - Support for "seed file" based discovery and the ability to discover chassis component details including card, port and back plane information, as well as devices supporting SNMPv3 and IPv6.

Alert Navigator Improvements - Including the ability to enable/disable default Correlation behavior and to provide greater control over authorized users who can configure these options. An integrated Find/Search facility is also provided to improve usability.

Web Alert Improvements - Added the ability to change NETeXPERT passwords and also added support for enhanced filtering.

Additional Server Performance Improvements - Our goal to improve our users' ability to get more out of their investment is ongoing. In addition to improving the core performance of policy server and correlation engines, this release provides the ability to distribute and balance the polling load across multiple gateway agents and provides the ability to stagger the start of policy servers over a given polling cycle or frequency.

Migration Assistance - Provides Poll & Trap Policy migration utilities to minimize rework for customers migrating from IP Assurance to IP Manager.
